With winds coming from the north today, counts were low. But there were a few species found that made the day much more interesting. One Surf Scoter was seen today; now all 3 Scoter species have been found this count season. Another 1st-of-season species was Double-crested Cormorant. 4 of them flew east together in line formation. Another noteworthy find was 3 Red Crossbills. It will be interesting to see how many Red Crossbills show up on their journey back north after this species just had an irruption winter.
