A review of the past 3 days.

What a week so far!  Sunday was very wet with rain, Monday had snow falling all day, and today winds came from the northwest.  The best highlight on Sunday would probably be the 3 Wild Turkeys that walked right by.

Monday was an interesting day.  Many birds have already made it to this area, and were basically grounded because most were not brave enough to migrate through the snow.  This resulted in exceptionally high counts of some species like Fox Sparrow or Hermit Thrush (both of those into the hundreds) for anyone who walked or drove through the park yesterday.

Today, 51 species and 1,595 individual birds were counted, heavy on the gulls.  1,224 Ring-billed Gulls, 40 Herring Gulls, an adult Great Black-backed Gull, and 2 Boneparte’s Gulls were counted today.  Today there was also a little bit of raptor movement which included this female American Kestrel

and this Bald Eagle from the two seen today.
